Quick rule
have / get + object + past participle = someone else does it for you (or it happens to you).
I'm getting the kitchen redone next month.
She had her contract reviewed by a lawyer.
We need to have the fire alarms tested annually.
Common mistake
✗ I cut my hair yesterday (at the salon). → ✓ I had my hair cut yesterday.
Short practice
Rewrite: 'A mechanic fixed my car.' → I had/got my car fixed.
