Quick rule
will = decide/predict now. going to = plan or visible evidence. present continuous = fixed arrangement. future perfect = finished by then. future continuous = in progress then.

Look at those clouds; it's going to pour.
I'm seeing the dentist at nine, so I'll be late.
By 2030 most new cars will have gone electric.
Don't ring at eight — I'll be putting the kids to bed.
Common mistake
✗ I will meet Sara tomorrow at 6. → ✓ I'm meeting Sara tomorrow at 6.
